Health coaching is a unique, collaborative relationship between the coach and client in which the clients set the agenda and together they navigate the path to determined goals. They do this by doing a deep dive to discover the why behind the goal which ultimately is the most powerful motivator. In this way, the client feels supported, not manipulated.
The coaching method is a client-centered approach that elicits autonomous motivation and facilitates a change process through visioning, goal setting, and accountability which at its
best leads to sustainable change and a more healthful and fulfilling life.
Wellness is not about being skinny, stylish or working out at the gym. It is about self love,
caring enough to give your body the tools to thrive. Through diet, exercise, personal hygiene, self care, sleep and stress management, one achieves a confidence or “inner glow” that tells the world “I care and value myself.
When we show up for ourselves, we are able to approach our lives from a place of self assurance and certainty and achieve great things.
Lifestyle-related chronic diseases and cancer account for 50% of deaths, whereas obesity,
pre-diabetes, and diabetes are reaching epidemic proportions. Health-promoting behaviors are recognized as safe and effective interventions to help prevent and treat many chronic diseases. These interventions include stress management and mindfulness which improves emotional regulation and are a strong motivator.
As a Health and Wellness Coach, I empower my clients by building on their strengths and “what’s working” rather than trying to diagnose or fix what is not working. The more focus on the latter, the more confidence is undermined. Through positive energy and emotion, we facilitate a confident mindset to fuel the momentum of change.
